On 24 and 25 March, the 13th edition of the “Giornata della Modellistica in ARIA(NET)”<\/em> took place, an event we always look forward to with great enthusiasm, as it offers a valuable opportunity to gain a broad overview of the many possible application fields of atmospheric modelling.<\/p>\n Interest remains consistently high: nearly one hundred participants followed the sessions both in person and remotely, confirming that maintaining a hybrid format is the right choice. It allows us to engage those who, often due to distance, would not be able to join us in Milan in person, yet are eager to participate or present their work using our models.<\/p>\n Following the welcome remarks, the ARIANET team had the pleasure of presenting the main modelling developments introduced over the past year: from the update of TREFIC, to the correction of photochemical models using satellite observations; from agricultural emission scenarios to the reconstruction of atmospheric composition and climate over Europe with WRF+FARM within the FOCI Project; from the frontiers of Machine Learning applied to air quality, to an integrated approach to odour assessment. Emergency management topics were also covered, including models for plume dispersion from wildfires and accidental release events.<\/p>\n As always, the true added value of this event lies in the exchange of experiences among very different organisations and communities \u2014 and for this we warmly thank all our guests for sharing topics of great relevance.<\/p>\n In particular, we would like to acknowledge:<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 ARPAE<\/strong>, for presenting the MIMESI project on satellite data assimilation within the #kAIROS chain<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 ENEA<\/strong>, for sharing insights on the MINNI-CAMS forecasting system within Copernicus, and on urban reforestation strategies at the intersection of air quality and mortality impacts<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 ARPA Lombardia<\/strong>, for addressing wildfire plume dispersion using SPRAY and the assessment of meteorological impacts on air quality in Northern Italy<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 The Italian Fire and Rescue Service (Vigili del Fuoco)<\/strong>, for presenting the rescEU \u2013 CBRN-DSIM-IT project, covering both its operational objectives and current progress<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 Politecnico di Torino<\/strong>, for presenting numerical modelling and experimental work on pollutant dispersion at industrial sites<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 Regione Campania<\/strong>, for showcasing the implementation of modelling chains on Kubernetes architecture for F-Air<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 CNR-ISAC<\/strong>, for their participation in the EXPO-URB microscale intercomparison exercise organised by the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 CNR Palermo<\/strong>, for illustrating the topic of indoor air quality within the MISSION project<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 ARPA Liguria<\/strong>, for presenting operational forecasts for smoke deposition from industrial fires<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 SEA<\/strong>, for offering the perspective of major infrastructure operators (Milan Malpensa and Linate airports) on climate adaptation and mitigation<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 SUEZ A&C Spain<\/strong>, for sharing case studies and modelling insights on Low Emission Zones in Spain<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 ARIA Technologies<\/strong>, for presenting climate adaptation monitoring and high-resolution air quality assessment near the Boulevard P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique in Paris<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year, in celebration of our recently reached milestone of 25 years of activity<\/strong>, we treated ourselves to a small but meaningful gift: a video (produced with the invaluable support of the cooperative ALBORAN) that we will be sharing here on our website very soon. It is a journey through a quarter century of science, innovation, and people.<\/p>\n A moment to pause, look back at where we started, and \u2014 with the same enthusiasm and commitment that has always driven us \u2014 imagine where we are heading.<\/p>\n Thank you to everyone who made this event what it truly is: a community that comes together, shares its story, and grows as one.
