Dr Abdullah Al-Enezi, acting executive director of the Environment and Life Sciences Research Centre at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), announced the launch of the country’s first national air quality forecasting system, developed in collaboration with ARIANET:

“The Kuwait Institute for Global Research has developed an air quality forecasting system that predicts air pollutants at the level of Kuwait, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Arabian Peninsula.

The most prominent pollutants measured by the system are fine particles, ozone gas, nitrogen oxide, and sulphur oxide.

The most prominent entities that can benefit from this system are the Environment Public Authority, the General Administration of Meteorology, the oil sector with all its institutions, and entities concerned with responding to crises and emergencies.”
