The PEEX “Pan-Eurasian Experiment” program is a multidisciplinary initiative focused on climate change, air quality, the environment, and research infrastructure, with an emphasis on the northern Eurasian regions, particularly the Arctic and boreal zones.

It was established by various European, Asian, and Chinese organizations and research institutes.

The collaboration between PEEX (headquartered at the University of Helsinki and the Finnish Meteorological Institute) and individual research institutes promotes:

???? Funding opportunities for PEEX-labeled research projects,

???? Development of coordinated and coherent research infrastructures, and

???? Joint educational activities.

At the international level, the strategic goal is to strengthen the PEEX Program’s position within the global research, infrastructure, and climate policy landscape, such as Future Earth, WMO-GAW, and GEOSS, by creating a PEEX collaboration network.

We are pleased to announce that among the new memoranda of understanding signed, including those with the Ukrainian Joint Meteorological and Hydrological Society (UHMS), the University of Belgrade, Serbia, the Institute of Forestry and Engineering, Estonian University of Life Sciences, and Odesa Polytechnic National University, Ukraine, ARIANET is also present, reflecting a commitment to greater collaboration in the international scientific community on air quality and climate change issues (see the news in the newsletter: PEEX Arctic-Boreal Hub Newsletter Issue 28 – June 2024).
