Project BEEP: New Publication
As part of the #BEEP project (https://lnkd.in/ew7z9CH), in which ARIANET contributed by conducting national-scale numerical simulations of meteorological parameters and major air pollutants at a 5×5 km resolution, a new analytical study has been published. The study aims to investigate and estimate the effects of exposure to PM10 and PM2.5 on the incidence of respiratory diseases in a sample population residing in Pisa, an area characterized by a low-to-medium level of air pollution.
The results provide new insights and evidence on the long-term effects of PM pollution on respiratory health. The correlations established between PM10, PM2.5, and various respiratory disorders in the study may suggest further research directions and could also be useful for shaping policies and regulatory measures.
