Today, the XIII International Conference on Air Quality – Science and Applications begins in Thessaloniki. Organized by the Centre for Atmospheric and Instrumentation Research (CAIR) of the University of Hertfordshire, it will be hosted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).

Now in its 26th year, the Conference remains a crucial event for the international scientific community to assess the latest research findings on air quality and its applications.

The central role of air quality in pursuing sustainable development through the reduction of airborne pollutant concentrations that impact both human health and ecosystems is now universally recognized. This issue spans various scales, involves complex chemical-physical interactions, and also intersects with the effects of climate change.

As tradition dictates, the conference will bring together representatives from the scientific community, institutional stakeholders, and the public to discuss and review the most recent results, aiming to identify the most interesting implications for guiding the actions of policymakers and citizens.

ARIANET will participate in the conference with Sandro Finardi, who will serve both as a member of the International Scientific and Advisory Committee and as a speaker on Thursday and Friday.
