Among the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) programs, the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) is responsible for organizing, sharing, and coordinating information collected on the chemical composition of the atmosphere on a global scale. In this way, the Global Atmosphere Watch provides reliable scientific information for national and international policymakers, supports international conventions on stratospheric ozone depletion, and monitors long-range transboundary air pollution and climate change.

In this context, the 2021 conference has been organized, which from June 28 to July 2 will address topics related to the role and use of information collected on atmospheric composition, correlations between atmospheric composition, pandemics, and support for a new health agenda, as well as Earth system modeling and data management.

Today, in the session focused on the particular pandemic period we are experiencing, Sandro Finardi will present โ€œAnalysis of COVID-19 Lockdown Measures Impact on the Air Quality in Rome Region: Key Indications for Future Air Quality Managementโ€ (Finardi_Covid_Measures_impact_on_AQ).
