Among the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) programs, the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) is responsible for organizing, sharing, and coordinating information collected on the chemical composition of the atmosphere on a global scale. In this way, the Global Atmosphere Watch provides reliable scientific information for national and international policymakers, supports international conventions on stratospheric ozone depletion, and monitors long-range transboundary air pollution and climate change.

In this context, the 2021 conference has been organized, which from June 28 to July 2 will address topics related to the role and use of information collected on atmospheric composition, correlations between atmospheric composition, pandemics, and support for a new health agenda, as well as Earth system modeling and data management.

Today, in the session focused on the particular pandemic period we are experiencing, Sandro Finardi will present “Analysis of COVID-19 Lockdown Measures Impact on the Air Quality in Rome Region: Key Indications for Future Air Quality Management” (Finardi_Covid_Measures_impact_on_AQ).
