A global observational analysis to understand changes in air quality during exceptionally low anthropogenic emission conditions” has been published in Environment International. This is the result of a study coordinated by WMO/GAW on the analysis of the impact of COVID-19 measures on air quality at a global level.
By evaluating the effects in 63 different cities, compared to other previously published material, this study allows for the consolidation of findings on the results obtainable with drastic emission containment measures, mainly from the transport sector, such as those experienced during the 2020 lockdown.
